Floating Boats!!

What's your favourite TYPE of music? Any favourite artists? What do you listen to while scrapping? Doing housework? Relaxing in the bath? Who floats your boat these days?

HHmm ok, so lets float a boat or two!! I have a million different kinds of music tastes, I think having parents in their 60's and brother in his 40's and me growing up at a ripe age of 32, I have such a span of music, I love things like Elvis (thanks Mum) Country (cheers Dad) ska/Madness (thanks a bunch Bro) and then things like 80/90/00 from my school and college days.

And depending on what im doing depends on what Channel on Sky I put on or what DVD, if im scrapping then I like easy listening, anything I can tap my feet too, or hum along with. If im tidying the house, something a little more upbeat, to get me in the mood to do stuff.

If I was too relax in the bath I suppose, chilled out music like Barry White, or Steve Wrights Love stongs.

I cannot pin point a certain taste, I know I dont like new Rock or music from the likes of Evenacense and alike.........

So I suppose most music floats my boat!!!

Whats in your Bag!!!!

A fun one today. BBC Breakfast had a hilarious report on women's handbags this morning. The average woman's handbag weighs 1.6 Kilo or about 3 pounds. Our handbags say a lot about us....it could make a great LO for a 'Book of Me' as well as THE BLOG PROMPT today:What’s your handbag like? What makes a ‘perfect’ handbag? What do you carry in your handbag? What's in it right now? Do you ever have ‘handbag envy’?

HHmm well I think I have done the same as a million other women and keep buying smaller bags hoping that you wont fill it with as much crap as your last bag!! well that went out the window as I love over the body bags, as I think they are safer.

So I hear you cry, whats in my bag..............................here goes:

Scrunhie (hair band) essential
2 Lip Blams essential
House keys to Mums house and MIL house
Several pens and pencils often borrowed from work
Lipstick (never wear to work)
receipts (ink worn cant see for what is was for)
Eye drops
Business Card for a hotel in Mallorca (highly recommended)
£1 token for shopping trolley
And a very light purse

So nothing interesting, I love handbags and regulary point out new ones in hope that my light purse will become full so I can spend it on another bag, I have loads of bags indoors behind my wardrobe ~note to self try and sell on ebay~

So that is a snippet of me, maybe one day you will see a LO on this.......watch this space!!

I've Had the time of my Life

'Simple' prompt today: What has been the best time of your life? Why? (Use more than one if you want! You can even use the 'worst time' but I thought it would be good to be upbeat....)

Interesting this one, best time of my life, hhmm have a few, but the one at the moment standing out is going to my brothers 40th in Mallorca this year, special for a few reasons, firstly because at one stage we thought we werent able to go, as I was in the middle of being made redundant, then good news the redundancy was re-thought and they took me off risk, so the holiday was back on.

Then when we got there the weather was amazing, and we went to a part of the island that we have never been to before, it was heaven, perfect weather, perfect location, with all the people I care about, it was truly an amazing weekend.

It was also an amazing weekend due to the fact it was 3 weeks before my dad passed away, it was the last time we were all together, having a good time, and my brother managed to have my dad there for his big 40.

So I suppose at this moment in time that is one of my life highlights, obviously followed very closely to one of my lifes worst times, but as they say all things must be balanced!! well thats what they say!!

Obvisously, the other highlight in my life was meeting Roger, its amazing you never know what you have had to live without until you find it!! does that make sense!

Inspriation Please!!

Where do you find your inspiration? Especially when going through a dry spell?Do you remember a specific moment when a light bulb went on "click" and you knew you had to get home to scrap!!What common day objects do you now view with a scrappers eye?

Im fairly new to scrapbooking, so inspiration at the moment is far from a loss!! but if I feel like I am lacking something, I tend to go to the boards on UKS, the people on their are amazingly talented and could give inspiration to anyone, I could easily spend a good few hours trawling through the galleries its amazing, from paint cans to canvas's to charms and dominos.

Each time I look on the boards I find my list of must try and like to try just gets longer and longer, im now doing a canvas as a christmas pressie, im trying a paint can as a pressie, along with a wedding albumn and so on. So for me inspiration isnt a real problem its seeing others inspriation that causes me a lack of time and that is where im stumped!!

But if I ever need it, or if you ever have a blank visit the gallery on UKS you will be amazed.

Ask Away!!!

Today's blog prompt: What five questions would you like to ask your politicians (on any level: local, regional, national, etc.)? Explain the questions and name the politician (or just title: Prime Minister, Minister of Education, etc.) if possible.

Interesting:

1. Why cant we have Maternity like the nordic countries!! I dont want 6 months off with a child that has taken me forever to get!!!

2. Why cant our kids play conkers anymore!! that was a cool game, was horrified to hear they are banning it!!

3. Why is it so hard for first time buyers, help them out more

4. Why doesnt life me life anymore, the Krays got life for the crimes they done and in todays volient world what they done was hardly anything to what the nutters can do now, and todays criminals get life but out within 15!! Go figure

5. Why does my mum have to pay ridiculas tax on her pension, she was taxed when she earnt it, she is taxed on her pension and low and behold will be taxed when she has gone!! how can you tax people 3 times on THEIR money, I stress this as we have been going through all this tax crap since my dad passed away, its evil and down right greedy!!

Thats all LOL

YAY The return of JaneH..................

Today's blog prompt: What constitutes a dream home for you? What features are most important? How do you make a house a home for yourself (your style, your trademark must-have items)? Colours, textures, floorplans, features, neighbourhoods, and even things like pets could make your 'home'...

Well funny you should ask this today...Roger and I were talking about if we moved what is it want the most, and for me the one thing I miss at home is my fire place, we moved 2yrs ago to a newer style property and they dont have fireplaces, so for me my next home will definatley have a fireplace! but its not that which will make my dream home, I think for me home is home, its the place I feel the most relaxed, I love certain colours in certain rooms, not saying that I wont ever change them but at the moment im into calming colours! we have alot going on at the moment so calming is good..........

Carpet.....Oh my god what a difference it makes, we have laminate wood floor everywhere and we hate it but as we all know time and money dictates when carpet can be laid!!

Nice and airy, but warm and cosy I know they are totally different but lighting makes it, we never have the big lights on (except when crafting !!) we always have side lights on, one in the hall 2 in the living room its just right...

Pictures and paintings, they tell you who lives there and what type of people live there, we have loads of family photos in collages up the stairs, and ones of our holidays you know the memories... I have a shelving unit on the wall in the front room and special bits and bobs are on there and they are the things that let you know I live there me myself and I ........ oh and my Rog lol

I dont think one thing makes a home its a mixture of everything, and the one thing that tells me im home is seeing Rogers van there when I get home from work and knowing that when I close the door im home and safe................
